Southwest Association of Hispanic American Physicians (SWAHAP) cordially invites you to join our organization. The main goal of SWAHAP is to serve and educate our community, to serve and educate our association members, and to impact and direct the delivery of healthcare along the El Paso border region. We are committed to community service, social assistance and public education. Our Association is multicultural and is open to all physicians who have a common interest in two cultures, Hispanic and American.
Our organization is proud to provide the following functions and events to our members and our community.
- General Assembly meetings, where members and spouses are invited for an evening of an educational presentation, dinner and music. These meetings take place on a quarterly base.
- Summer Congress provides additional educational experience in a vacation-style setting. The summer congress serves two purposes: To educate and provide an opportunity to socialize in a family-oriented atmosphere.
- The Fall Congress in the month of November is one of the largest and best-attended medical congresses in the El Paso border region. It consistently provides excellent speakers and educators in all fields of medicine and surgery. The educational information and experience provides and excellent opportunity for all El Paso Physicians, Nurses and Allied Health personnel to broaden and keep up with current medical education and satisfy CME requirements. The membership dues automatically enroll the SWAHAP members in the congress
- SWAHAP provides educational scholarships to qualified students seeking a medical career.
- SWAHAP provides charity funds to qualified groups and organizations that benefit the community or provide education to the community.
- A yearly Gala dinner/dance is sponsored to raise funds for scholarships and to honor students that have earned a scholarship.
The annual membership fee is $300.00 and will also enroll the member in the November Congress.
